3motions — self-deploying modular CMS
Entrepreneuriat personnel — Web projects run independently from 2005 to 2011, and the first sites delivered to clients.
Back from an agency internship: the in-house CMS used there and WordPress directly inspired a CMS built independently, designed to deploy itself.
The principle: drop the sources onto an FTP space, then follow the installation. An administrator account and the database parameters are supplied, the administration interface deploys, and the native modules sitting in a dedicated directory are detected automatically. Each module — page creation, articles, comments — can be switched on or off from that interface.
The CMS served to build 3motions, a showcase site meant to replace the previous trading name by demonstrating the tool that carried it. A second project was started in parallel with a non-developer partner: a prize-game platform, on the model of the sites of the day.
Everything stopped in 2011. The need to take up paid work left no room for development run alongside it. The next post would be salaried, and would open with five years of IT operations.
Achievements
Continuous auction for the featured slot
Whoever outbids the standing bid takes the place; the slot consumes credit for every second on display. An auction by time rather than by click.
From first pages to first dynamic sites
A personal page in 2006, a site for a second-hand postcard resale business, a site offering ASCII and BBCode decoration elements for download built in PHP, and the trading name's first showcase.
Rankings and viewer
Rankings by best ratings and by most rated blogs, and a manual viewer for browsing the registered blogs.
