Business analyst — telecoms
Astek — Leading French telecommunications and digital services provider
The analysis hat was taken on in autumn 2018, with the study for version 2.7, then held alone from the departure — in spring 2019, without replacement — of the last member of the Toulouse team still on the project.
The analysis service as it is sold and as it was held: reading the specification or the business request, formalising the requirements matrix, running needs-clarification workshops, signing off the requirements document, writing the solution proposal, presenting it, estimating. From the 2020 renovation onwards, writing the commercial proposal was added. So were writing the test grids, running the tests in the acceptance environment and tracking faults through qualification.
Achievements
- 6 versions specified end to end, from 2.7 to 2.12
Running business analysis after the last analyst left
Requirements matrix, clarification workshops, sign-off on the requirements document, solution proposal, presentation and estimate, for every version delivered from autumn 2018 onwards.
- 13 faults on the following version, then 2 to 3 per version
Delivery quality brought back version after version
More than a hundred faults in acceptance testing and forty production faults on the 2018 version; thirteen on the next; two to three at most on each version thereafter. Test grids written, tests run in the acceptance environment, faults tracked through qualification.
Interface contracts with upstream systems
Written at every change of sending equipment or of flow: formats, transfers, and decommissioning of the components that had become redundant.
Analysis extended into pre-sales
From 2020, the service runs through to the commercial proposal: the same document describes the solution and commits to it.
