Nouba — association website and back office
Entrepreneuriat personnel — Web projects run independently from 2005 to 2011, and the first sites delivered to clients.
The first paid site, delivered for an association.
The specification was not settled at the outset and requests kept coming: the build stretched over several months, done and undone. A beginner's mistake, which costs the client as much as the supplier — and the first lesson in scoping of the career.
The site was delivered: PHP, MySQL and CSS, hosted on OVH, with an article and comment system and a back office covering article publication, the content of the news and calendar pages, and the pages describing the association's activities. Administration was then called upon occasionally, with no recurring service contract ever having been agreed — a second lesson, on what a contract has to cover beyond delivery.
Achievements
A first lesson in scoping
Specification not settled at the outset, requests arriving continuously, a build done and undone over several months. The cost was shared between client and supplier.
Self-deploying CMS
Sources dropped onto an FTP space, installation guided by entering an administrator account and the database parameters, administration interface deployed automatically.
Showcase site designed, built and redesigned three times
First version in 2007 with a photo gallery and contact form, from mockup to production. Redesigned in 2008, then fully rebuilt in 2010.
