Responsible-IT expert — internal
CGI — Global leader in digital services and consulting
CGI's responsible-IT offering, built in 2022 by a colleague working as an intrapreneur and already proven on arrival: corporate strategy assessment (Lucie label), project assessment (GR491), bespoke framework creation, awareness and training. Joining the team in 2023 as a technical contributor on a first eco-design assessment, then holding a cross-cutting responsible-IT expert role through to August 2025.
Three structuring workstreams over the period: extending the offering to operations and to data (GreenOps, FinOps, Green Data), designing a frugal-AI assessment grid proven by an internal proof of concept, and writing a plan to generalise eco-design across CGI France — more than 9,000 employees. Alongside these, around a dozen eco-design audits carried out at clients, and continuous awareness and outreach work, in France and with CGI's entities in Canada, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.
Shifting the offering towards operations is not only a technical choice: GreenOps cuts both the impact and the bill. That is what made it possible to back a hitherto strictly environmental argument with financial ones, and to get it into commercial proposals.

- 3 tender responses enriched
Extending the offering to operations and to data
Watch and upskilling on FinOps, Green Data and measurement APIs (the Green Score API) from mid-2024. The realisation that FinOps principles apply to environmental gain: GreenOps cuts both the impact and the bill. Writing the corresponding commercial templates and formalising these principles in commercial proposals, folded into three tender responses. No dedicated engagement sold, but a contribution to CGI's referencing across several service centres.
Frugal-AI assessment grid and internal proof of concept
Building, from August 2024, an eco-design assessment grid for projects incorporating artificial intelligence, based on the RGIAF and AFNOR Spec 2314. The grid was proven by a proof of concept on an internal application in development incorporating AI, following the method of the other assessments — interviews, review of processes and documents, a readout allowing the score to be improved. The scope stayed internal; no external client was assessed.

Plan to generalise eco-design
Modelling how a project enters eco-design across CGI France, the French-speaking community of the Western South Europe division. The path runs from flagging to the CSR lead, contact with the responsible-IT team, checking that the project's people have had awareness training, scheduling training with a minimum level to reach on the PLENR platform depending on profile, appointing an eco-design relay sponsored by a project already engaged, then assessment and a minimal tooled strategy. Support calibrated at two or three days, accelerated training and a first improvement plan included; life cycle assessment and paid tooling deferred to a second stage. Three pilot projects identified and started.
Responsible-IT awareness and outreach
Regular responsible-IT awareness sessions: quarterly presentations in the business unit, seminars for work-experience students and new joiners (around twenty people each), co-facilitation with a UX/UI accessibility expert, and a plain-language presentation of GreenOps practices during responsible-IT week to more than a hundred consultants.
- 140 developers
Lessons learned from the tyre manufacturer audit
Running the lessons-learned session on the eco-design audit before 140 developers, then presenting it at the offering forum before more than a hundred participants — CGI France project directors and vice-presidents.
- 5 à 6 support sessions
Building the offering for CGI entities abroad
CGI France was ahead of the group on the subject. Exchanges with several entities to present the French offering and support them in building their own, suited to their market: five to six sessions, in English with the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, in French with Canada. The furthest-developed partnership was with CGI Canada, whose responsible-IT offering was built jointly; the clients subsequently won in that market gave rise to shared engagements, bringing expertise and upskilling the local teams.
