Project manager (electronic invoicing) — telecoms
Inetum — Leading French telecommunications and digital services provider
An application centralising invoice issuance: aggregating the flows of the operator's various internal invoicing and electronic invoicing applications, transmitting them to the accredited platform, relaying its responses and applying corrections to invoices. It covers the whole invoice life cycle, for the group and its subsidiaries.
The engagement opened with taking the scope over from another supplier's team, and a complete rebuild of the schedule at the end of initialisation: the inherited team was not sized for the client's needs.
Run from the Montpellier service centre, from framing through to production support, under a regulatory deadline — every regulatory feature expected in production by September 2026.
Each business need is formalised as a change request with its own technical solution, priced at a fixed rate, then grouped into one quote per release with an obligation of result. Scope of responsibility: quotes, estimates, schedule and capacity plan, steering committee, internal reporting and invoicing.
Achievements
- 2 months of initialisation
Scope handover and schedule rebuild
Responsibility transferred from an outgoing supplier's team over two months: estimating, capacity planning and setting up the tracking arrangements. The inherited schedule was rebuilt entirely, the team not being sized for the client's needs.
- 16 people led
Team grown from 7 to 16 people
Resizing then leading the project team: project management, functional analysis and development, including two technical-functional profiles reinforcing the analysis. Single point of entry and owner of estimating, scheduling, deliverables and invoicing, including after a second project manager joined on coordination.
- 3 000 man-days across the programme
Fixed-price estimating, release by release
Each change request and its technical solution is priced in Excel, then grouped into one quote per release committed at a fixed rate with an obligation of result. The programme represents around 3,000 man-days in total, priced month by month rather than all at once.
- 1 / mois release delivered
Monthly delivery cadence
Planning and delivering successive releases, at a rate of one release a month.
- 20 invoicing applications connected
Interface contracts and opening partner flows
Running the exchanges needed to establish interface contracts, open the flows and configure the APIs in the client's internal tooling, across some twenty upstream invoicing applications. Setting up S3 buckets and managing the access given to partners to exchange with the application.
- 2 job groups added
Changes to batch job scheduling
Two major scheduling changes: adding two batch job groups attached to a specific functional domain.
- 3 à 4 third-line tickets a month
Running production support
Taking on third-line support for the delivered scope, alongside release deliveries. Volume contained — three to four tickets a month — full production opening being targeted at the end of the project.
